Honoring the Triton Series
It honors the critically acclaimed Triton Series, sharing a similarly tall, slender profile; built-in DSP-controlled subwoofer amplification; and a driver complement comprising GoldenEar’s High-Velocity Folded Ribbon AMT tweeter, cast-basket mid/bass units, quadratic planar radiators, and long-throw powered sub-bass section.
Onward and Upward
Several important cosmetic and sonic refinements distinguish the new T66 from previous GoldenEar speakers. These include a dramatically augmented crossover design, high-quality internal wiring, a new metal base and grille, and, in addition to GoldenEar’s high-gloss piano-black lacquer, a vibrant red cabinet finish.
High-Quality Binding Posts — Now BiWireable
Two pairs of binding posts accommodate biwiring and feature improved materials to minimize distortion. Includes AudioQuest’s Direct-Gold Plated Bare Naked Jumpers.
High-Definition Mid/Bass Drivers
GoldenEar’s cast-basket mid/bass drivers feature an improved yoke assembly to minimize distortion and employ Multi-Vaned Phase Plugs for excellent off-axis response.
Reviews - GoldenEar T66
The Absolute Sound’s Golden Ear Award:
The GoldenEar T66 has received The Absolute Sound’s Golden Ear Award. This recognizes outstanding audio products that have stood the test of time, or, in the case of T66, exciting new products poised to become hi-fi classics.
Beginning today, we can share this news with all our customers. Please use the attached award logo in your own print/digital marketing materials pertaining to T66. Social posts are being published on all our GoldenEar platforms, and our partners should feel free to share accordingly.
In his review, TAS’s Drew Kalbach concluded:
“The T66s did what I expected, and that’s a very good thing. There were some surprises, some obvious sonic enhancements, and some quality-of-life improvements like those delectable adjustable feet. As the first speaker under the new ownership, the T66s are a wonderful addition to the GoldenEar product line. Just as speakers that look great, sound amazing, fit into nearly any environment, and negate the need for an additional powered subwoofer, they are an easy recommendation.”
Soundstage Review of T66:
SoundStage's Philip Beaudette admires the T66's fit and finish, ease of use, and naturally balanced overall character. He writes: "...it occurred to me, as I listened to this tune through the GoldenEars, that I wasn’t paying attention to the stereo system at all: I was focusing on the music, not the sound. The T66 towers just did nothing wrong, insofar as I barely noticed them. They effortlessly conveyed the huge acoustic space, and their ability to uncover everything happening on the track made for a vivid and immersive presentation. Listening to music is about experiences, and this one was superb.”
Some other great quotes from Philip’s review:
• There was an evenhandedness in the presentation that meant the speakers drew almost no attention to themselves.
• For such big speakers, they did a fine disappearing act.
• I wasn’t paying attention to the stereo system at all: I was focusing on the music, not the sound.
• The T66 towers just did nothing wrong, insofar as I barely noticed them.
• Listening to music is about experiences, and this one was superb.
• …the big floorstanders had no issues handling high playback levels, maintaining the same character at any volume I could comfortably tolerate.
• Standing out in a crowd is difficult, but GoldenEar speakers do, both literally and figuratively.
• Sometimes an idea that seems promising in concept doesn’t work in practice. This one does. Highly recommended.

Following Philip Beaudette's outstanding review of the GoldenEar T66, published May 1, SoundStage has also published their technical measurements and added the T66 to its list of "Recommended Reference Components."

SoundStage! has reviewed many GoldenEar speakers since the brand’s founding 14 years ago. But until now, only one GoldenEar model has earned both our Reviewers’ Choice and Recommended Reference Component awards: the Triton Reference, which Doug Schneider reviewed in November 2017 on this site. It now shares this distinction with the T66.
HiFi Pig Review of T66:
Michael Fairbairn develops a similar theme in his review of the T66 for HiFi Pig: "I called up Hush by Jellyfish. It’s a go-to of mine for reviews, owing to the lush arrangement with a wash of gorgeous, multi-part vocal harmony and strings. I have heard it fall flat and lifeless in lesser setups, but this came across just as I had hoped with that feeling of having the music hanging in the air and not being aware of the actual system.

The Absolute Sound Review of T66:
Drew Kalbach's review of the GoldenEar T66 has been published to The Absolute Sound's website: https://www.theabsolutesound.com/articles/goldenear-t66/
This was originally published in the April issue of TAS. We'll schedule social posts and add a link from the GoldenEar website. Here are some possible pull quotes:
• “The bass sounds just fantastic. Smooth, even, solid, without flabbiness. Even at low levels, there’s always a sense of physicality thanks to that active amplifier.”
• “The T66s have some of the tightest, most satisfying bass I’ve heard in a while. Even without cranking the volume, the kick drum had some heft and physicality, always there but never overwhelming.”
• “The T66s seemed to thrive…with music that begged to be turned up, played loud, played big.”
• “I expected to be excited by the bass, knew I’d really like the mids and the uppers, but the full spectrum of sound felt locked in and clear.”
• “The T66s shine with music that takes advantage of their full spectrum and their massive soundstage presence, but they still sound wonderful playing a smaller live band.”
• “The T66s did what I expected, and that’s a very good thing.”
Shane Lee YouTube Review of T66:
Shane Lee recently spent quality time with the GoldenEar T66 in his new listening room and theater. In a high-performance system comprising HiFi Rose RS520 network streamer and Cambridge Audio EVO150 integrated amplifier--all wired and powered with AudioQuest--the speakers proved equally rewarding with music and movies, for critical and casual listening, and with everything from cool jazz to party-worthy hip-hop and house music.
He appreciations the T66s' sleek, refined industrial design, expert way with micro-detail, expansive soundstage, and compelling overall sonic performance. "The soundstage...," Shane reflects, "you get that big, wraparound sensation...almost like you're wearing headphones." He goes on to add, "You have speakers that are your reference speakers...but then something else comes along that just does something that little bit better."
T66 review by Caleb Denison for Digital Trends:
We are especially proud of this GoldenEar T66 review by Caleb Denison for Digital Trends. Aside from the fact that it has a potential reach of over 10 million readers/viewers, it is remarkable for its vulnerability, honesty, and humanity. It's a rare and beautiful thing for a review of any kind to have the power to bring its audience to tears. This one does that. Unlike the typical publications with whom we work, Digital Trends has specific licensing requirements, so we can't immediately quote from the review freely. For now, please feel free to share the link.
In the review, Digital Trends' Caleb Denison reflects on traditions -- of parents and children, of enthusiasts and music lovers, of the audio publications and manufacturers who fuel their passions -- and he is brought to tears. In the GoldenEar T66, Caleb Denison sees an heirloom product that he hopes to one day share with his daughter. Beautiful stuff.

CEPro Review of T66:
Writing for CEPro, Robert Archer decides "GoldenEar has developed a speaker that perfectly complements modern AV content consumption."
https://www.cepro.com/audio-video/goldenear-t66-loudspeaker-backbones-modern-av-ce-pro-review
Lots of excellent pull-quotes focusing on how the speakers can be incorporated into a multipurpose home entertainment system:
• The speakers can obviously be used in a high-end, luxury two-channel stereo system or as part of a state-of-the-art immersive audio. Where I really like the speakers are as the finishing piece to a high-performance multipurpose AV system.
• With a nice AVR (AV receiver), integrated amplifier or separate amplifier and preamplifier connected to a TV, streaming device, disc player, and/or turntable, homeowners will benefit from the dynamics, smoothness, and detail the speakers provide.
• The speakers won’t compromise AV content performance, and in fact through the precise imaging of the speakers I would bet that homeowners wouldn’t even realize they don’t have a center-channel speaker.
• The speakers are just easy to listen to whether it’s a stereo soundtrack like the audio from the History Channel app and shows like History’s Greatest Mysteries or a full immersive audio soundtrack like Pacific Rim...
• I am really impressed with the versatility, system friendliness, and the overall performance of the speakers.
• GoldenEar has created what may be the first modern, high-performance multipurpose loudspeaker solution that’s just as at home in an immersive audio system, as a multipurpose 2.1 system flanking an 83-inch 8K TV.
• GoldenEar’s T66 is easy to set up, it is forgiving to listen to with a wide variety of content, and it produces precise imaging, which is a key element to its two-channel performance within a multipurpose AV system
Part-Time Audiophile T66 Review:
Marc Phillips joins the choir of reviewers who've been impressed by the GoldenEar T66. The speakers have received PTA's "Reviewers Choice" Award.
• “There is a wholeness to the music that sounds completely natural.”
• “The GoldenEar T66 loudspeakers sound big and yet refined…”
• “The GoldenEars, due to their coherence and dynamics, sounded honest and unbridled. That made the music more powerful and searing…”
• “I was delighted that the GoldenEar T66s--after properly set up--never delivered too much bass.”
• “These loudspeakers sound big and refined and dynamic with modest amount of power. For $6,900/pair, they're also a great value…”
